Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce

The rich flavor of the Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce combines the saltiness of the soy sauce and the sweetness of the brown sugar. Great on salmon, ribs, and many other types of meat. Brings the rich flavor of bourbon from the bar into the kitchen. Use as a topping, marinade, or dipping sauce.

Recipes:


Black & Blue Burgers

YIELDS: 4-6 burgers 

INGREDIENTS:
Bacon, about 8 slices (1-2 slices per burger) 
1 tsp Oil or Butter
½ White Onion, small diced
2 cloves Garlic, grated
½ lb Ground Pork 
½ lb Ground  Beef 
1 Tbsp Blue Cheese, crumbled, plus more for topping 
2 Tbsp Milk (optional)
¼ c Breadcrumbs, or 4 pieces of white bread, finely chopped
3 Tbsp F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce, plus more for basting 
Salt + Pepper, to taste (about 1 ½ tsp of each)
6 Brioche or Sesame Burger Buns 

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Begin by small dicing your white onion; set aside.
2. Using a microplane, grate your garlic cloves & set aside, as well. 
3. Preheat your oven to 365°F. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper for the bacon (or use precooked bacon).
4. Bake the bacon for about 15 minutes, until golden brown & slightly crispy. Remove from the oven & dry off the fat with paper towels. 
5. In a sauté pan on medium-low heat, with oil or butter (about a teaspoon), sauté onions & grated garlic, until translucent & some edges have begun to brown. 
6. Remove the onion/garlic mixture from the heat & allow it to cool, slightly.
7. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork & beef with sautéed onion mixture, crumbled blue cheese, milk, breadcrumbs, & F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce. Mix together until everything is evenly incorporated.
8. Portion and shape the meat mixture into 4-6 evenly sized patties. 
9. Cook burger patties on a grill, or in a cast iron skillet on medium high heat, to your desired doneness. While cooking, baste on additional F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce using a brush. 
10. Once done, remove from heat, & baste with additional F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce. 
11. Lightly toast the buns. Once toasted, assemble your burger, layering delicious meat patty, crispy bacon, & blue cheese on each bun. Top with even more F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce, if desired.

Sweet Bourbon Grilled Salmon

INGREDIENTS:
2-4 6-oz. pieces of Coho Salmon
½ c Olive Oil
Kosher Salt
Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1 Bottle F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce

DIRECTIONS:
1. With a basting brush, lightly brush both sides of your salmon filets with olive oil, reserving a little to brush on your clean grill grate. Important! Your grill grate must be clean for this recipe to work. Otherwise, your salmon will stick and create a big mess. 
2. Lightly season each side of your salmon with kosher salt & fresh ground pepper. Preheat your grill to 400°F. 
3. While grill is preheating, pour 4 oz. of F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce into a small saucepan & heat on the stovetop until the sauce starts to slightly simmer—you want it warm, not boiling. 
4. Once your grill is preheated to the desired temperature, brush your cleaned grill grate with olive oil & place salmon, skin side up, on your grill for 5 minutes with lid closed. 
5. With a wide spatula, flip the salmon, brush the top with F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce & cook for 5 minutes longer.
6. Glaze salmon with F+F Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce once more & remove from grill. Let cool for 5-10 minutes. Serve with your favorite sides.

BBQ Chicken Salad

COOK TIME: 30 Minutes
YIELDS: 5-8 Servings

INGREDIENTS:
2-3 Chicken Thighs (around 3 oz) 
½ c F+F Sweet Heat Honey 
Habanero BBQ Sauce 
½ c F+F Sweet + Savory Bourbon 
Grillin’ Sauce
½ c Corn 
½ c Watermelon 
½ c Baby Tomatoes 
½ c Feta 
1 Avocado
2-3 Heads of Romaine Lettuce 

DRESSING INGREDIENTS:
½ c F+F Sweet + Savory Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce
3 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire 
1-3 Tbsp Honey 
6 Tbsp Olive Oil 

TOPPINGS: 
Cilantro 
Basil 
Green onions 

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. In a bowl, marinate chicken thighs in ½ cup of F+F Sweet Heat Honey Habanero BBQ Sauce & ½ cup of F+F Sweet + Savory Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce (or any BBQ sauce of your choice). 
2. Set it aside, and let it marinate in the refrigerator overnight, if possible, or for at least two hours.
3. On high heat, sauté the corn until it develops some color. Set aside & let it cool for the salad.
4. Cut the watermelon into bite-sized pieces. Chop up remaining toppings, including baby tomatoes, feta & avocado slices.
5. Chop up the lettuce & set it in a separate bowl from the other items.
6. Make salad dressing by whisking together ½ cup F+F Sweet + Savory Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire, honey & olive oil until they are emulsified.
7. Grill the chicken or bake it in the oven at 375°F for 20-25 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Let the chicken cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
8. Assemble the salad with all prepped items & toss it with salad dressing.

Empanadas

COOK TIME: 40 minutes
YIELDS: 3-5 Servings

INGREDIENTS:
½ Onion, diced
2 Tbsp Garlic, finely grated
½-1 c Pulled Pork (or any pre-cooked meat)
½-1 c F+F Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce
1 Pie Dough, fresh or frozen

EGG WASH:
3 Egg Yolks
3 Tbsp Milk

DIRECTIONS:
1. Sauté onions & grated garlic over medium heat until translucent; then add pre-cooked or freshly cooked pork & warm through.
2. Add F+F Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce to onion/pork mixture & warm through. Set aside to cool completely, before stuffing into pie dough.
3. Cut out 5-inch rounds from pre-made pie dough, put spoonfuls of meat in center of each. Fold in half & crimp edges with fork, sealing dough with drops of water.
4. Prepare egg wash by mixing egg yolks with milk.
5. Bake pastries in preheated oven at 375°F for 15 minutes, brushing with egg wash, halfway through.

Mesquite BBQ Dip

INGREDIENTS: 
1 oz Cream Cheese, softened
8 oz Sour Cream 
¼ c Greek Yogurt
½ c Milk 
3-4 Tbsp Mesquite Seasoning
2 Tbsp F+F Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Combine softened cream cheese, sour cream & Greek yogurt in a food processor, until smooth & spreadable. Then add milk & mesquite seasoning, & blend. 
2. Remove from the food processor & fold in the F+F Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce.
3. Transfer to serving dishes & drizzle more F+F Sweet + Savory Sweet Bourbon Grillin’ Sauce on top.
4. Serve with chips, cucumber, or veggies for dipping.
